methodology
Bottom-up collector-car market capitalisation
A global average price is calculated for each individual model variant primarily using auction results.
Production data at the model variant level is inferred from confirmed production numbers, which are most commonly available for limited editions and as model/generation totals. Confirmed relational data, for example production splits, are taken into account.
The data is layered systematically: variant, generation, model, manufacturer. The market cap at each layer is the sum of the nested layer below.
By structuring the data this way, users can visualise which models have the greatest market footprint and analyse values in the context of the broader market.
